RUDOLPH DOMINATES AT LITTLE VALLEY SPEEDWAY Little Valley, NY July 3, 2017 ??? The BRP Modified Tour (Modified Tour Inc) headed to the southern tier to take on the big half-mile track at Little Valley Speedway (NY). There were 29 cars in the pits to battle for $2000. It was a new track for point???s leader Erick Rudolph but that didn???t change up the result, as the Ransomville, NY native took home his fourth Modified Tour win in a row. Rick Richner and Kyle Fink started on the front row of the 30-lap, $2000 to win event at Little Valley Speedway. Richner, running with the Tour for the first time this season, would jump out front for the first five laps. Behind the leader, Mat Williamson and Randy Chrysler would battle hard for fourth. On lap five, the top five would be Richner, Erick Rudolph, Rex King Sr, Williamson, and Chrysler. The top two would battle hard, side-by-side for most of the next four laps, before Rudolph would grab the lead on lap 9. The first yellow came out on lap 12 as the 73MD of Travis Shingledecker would stop in turn 4. Rudolph retained the lead with Richner lined up on his outside, and Williamson and King Sr lined up in row two. By lap 15, the battle for the fifth spot would become a three-car battle, as the 2B of Ron Cartwright and the 777 of Tyler Willard would close in on King Sr. Willard would grab the position on lap 17 just before the next caution for Jason Sines stopped in turn four. King Sr, who ran in the top five most of the race, would head to the pits during the caution. Trouble on the restart, as Garrett Krummert, positioned sixth at the time, slowed on the backstretch, and Cartwright and Rod Laskey got caught up on the backstretch as well, changing up the top ten spots. The top five would remain Rudolph, Williamson, Richner, Chrysler, and Willard. Rex King Jr had moved up to sixth after starting 12th. There would be one more caution, and Williamson would give Rudolph a good battle on the restarts, but Rudolph was able to stay out front through the checkered flag. It would be Rudolph???s fourth win in a row on the Modified Tour. Williamson would finish second, followed by Richner, King Jr, and JR McGinley. The Modified Tour will its next stop at Expo Speedway, the Trumbull County Fairgrounds, on Thursday, July 13th.
